Founded by Jean-Claude Mas, Arrogant Frog has become one of the most renowned French wine brands globally. Playing on the stereotype of French arrogance with a humorous twist, Mas created the brand's playful mascot, a charming French frog, to help elevate the international profile of French wine. Today, Arrogant Frog is a success story, with over 5 million bottles sold across more than 40 countries. Located in the Herault Valley near Pezenas, the winery draws inspiration from the regions rich history and Mediterranean climate. The vineyards are planted with a diverse mix of grape varieties, including Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier, and Chardonnay, all cultivated on gravely, clay-limestone hills.
Jean-Claude Mas, owner and winemaker, was born into a winemaking family in Pezenas, Languedoc. At just 3 years old, during the harvest, he escaped his mother and ran 2.5 km to the cellar to join his grandfather, an experience that sparked his lifelong passion for wine. Often hailed as a pioneer of the New Languedoc, he is part of a movement dedicated to restoring the region's former gloryan area with over 2,000 years of winemaking history.
